The first encounter with any hotel can often define your entire experience, and the Godwin Hotel Haridwar did not disappoint. The reception area exuded an air of sophistication and elegance, which hinted at the lavishness that awaited us during our stay.
The room was perfectly brown with backdrops of cream, although the size would seem a little compact when compared to other properties.
The bustling entrance into the property was a testament to its appeal, with many guests bustling about and a parade of vehicles that clearly did not seem to belong to the city.
It was evident right at the first glimpse that the hotel had carved a niche for itself among travelers seeking a perfect blend of luxury and convenience in the holy city.
Location āāāāā
Just a short drive of 6 kilometers away from the heart of the city, the Har ki Pauri, the Godwin Hotel Haridwar is located at just the right spot for travelers looking for a luxurious stay in the religious place.
Located at a distance of about 44 kilometers from Dehradun and 13 kilometers from Rishikesh, this hotel is a mesmerizing premium accommodation.
One can easily book your stay in the hotel for a marvelous experience of all the places in and around the city: including Haridwar, Rishikesh, Dehradun, Mussoorie, etc.
If you are interested in the wildlife experience near Haridwar, you can go ahead and visit the Rajaji National Park a few miles further from the hotel. Book a safari and indulge in a wonderful experience in the wild.
Ambiance āāāāā
The Godwin Hotel Haridwar exudes a sense of modernity blending seamlessly with traditional elements and lush greenery as you set your first foot on this 4-star property.
The lobby is tastefully decorated with shimmering golden lights, the area is wide and the eyes can wander to look at different corners and settings as you walk towards the reception.
Just as you look back from the reception table you look at the glamorous dining setting right in front of your eyes. With people sitting with their classy outfits, ready to try out the most contemporary dishes (mostly) that one can imagine from across the world.
The entire walkway up to your rooms seem like magic as you first walk out of your elevator. The walk-triggered lights lit up as one walks in their proximity and close once we are off it. It’s an incredible thing to notice at the luxurious property.
As you walk towards the pool area behind the hotel, you witness a magnificent view forming as a scenery at the backdrops. The green hills, the large garden area, a railway track in between – just making it a wonderous, watchable scene.
Accommodation āāāā
We opted for two family rooms with double bed at the Godwin Hotel Haridwar, one of which had the glorious view of the backdrops with the hills and the mist and a sense of tranquility, while the other – not so much.
The rooms were not very spacious, when compared to others in the same price, but for a place like Haridwar, it had an ample room space to move around and for kids to play. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and attention to detail that the accommodation had.
Our room had a marvelous, colorful decor which blended seamlessly with the traditional charm of the city and the modern amenities. The color scheme and furnishings created a soothing atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing stay after the day full of exploration and adventures.
The bed, as most luxury hotels have, was crisp and comfortable with large and soft beddings ensuring a restful night’s sleep. The room also had a seating area with two single sofas, one two-seater sofa set and a table and a chair for reading, working, etc.
The well-appointed washroom had modern fixtures and fascinating amenities like the shower and a small jacuzzi. The hot water supply was consistent, and the toiletries provided were of good quality, adding the overall comfort of the stay.
The major highlight of the accommodation at the Godwin hotel Haridwar is the option to book the pool-facing rooms. These give out the most breathtaking views of the Ranipur range and Rajaji National Park.
Hospitalityāāāā
One of the standout features of the Godwin Hotel Haridwar is its exceptional staff and hospitality. Throughout my stay, although we had minimum interactions, still for what it’s worth – the staff was really quick to answer our queries and room service was excellent.
From the moment I walked into the hotel, I was greeted with warm smiles and a genuine willingness to assist. The check-in process was really smooth and efficient and the staff was all knowledgeable about the local attractions, offering valuable tips and recommendations for my visit.
The rooms were impeccable clean and well-maintained by the housekeeping department and any requests for additional amenities or room service were met promptly.
What truly sets apart the Godwin Haridwar is the genuine friendliness and eagerness to ensure that the guests have a memorable stay. Their dedication to customer satisfaction is commendable and greatly contributed to my overall experience as far as the accommodation is concerned.
Dining
The multi-cuisine restaurant available just at the left as you enter inside through the hotel’s door seems magical to look at. With a variety of options to choose, from the traditional North Indian to the other fascinating delicacies from across the world, the dining at the Godwin Hotel Haridwar is considered to be one of the finest features of the hotel.
Personally, we had a tight schedule for our travel purposes so couldn’t get our hands on the fine dining experience but as per the reviews, its a good thing to try when and if you have time.
The menu includes many desi style local delicacies and incredible cuisine as per your wants. One of the best things about the dining experience in the hotel is that you can have it in your own room.
Facilities āāāā
My personal favorite of all the areas in the hotel was none other than the Swimming Pool premises. The garden area was pretty large and good for people who love their morning walks before the sunrises on the sky.
Also, it is great for children to run around and create what they inevitably do – havoc.
Just at the left hand side of the magnificent pool, lies the rejuvenating spa room and the gym looking right into the eyes of your li’l tummy.
The pool, as I said, looks magnificent. With a smaller area for kids and comparably larger for the adults to swim around, that is undoubtedly one of the top reasons why this hotel is pretty popular for travelers looking for a stay to visit Haridwar or Rishikesh.

Being a 4-star property, the Godwin Hotel Haridwar somewhat justifies its pricing with the overall experience that it provides you.
- The location is not too far away from both the attractive destinations in the beginning of Uttarakhand: Haridwar and Rishikesh, even Dehradun is not too far away.
- The rooms are clean, well-lit and comfortable, although compact when compared to other luxury properties I have stayed in around the country.
- The pool and the backdrop area behind it is as awesome as one could ask for in the area, but they do not provide you swimsuits, and it is a compulsion (which is fine) to only go into the pool wearing a swimsuit.
- If you want to have your dinner at the unbeatable, serene, golden-restaurant environment within the hotel, it can be a great experience. They serve a lot of different styles of delicacies both from India as well as from the outskirts.*
- My most favorite thing about the hotel has to be the fantastic view that you get right from one’s balcony. One can look at those beautiful hills, covered sometimes with a soft mist, and the sun setting down behind those mountains. Also the trains passing by gives the entire landscape a cherry-on-the-top vibe.
*But there are numerous Dhabas and small restaurants at a walkable distance from the hotel offering authentic taste and more than half the prices.
