March 14th, 2020 – this day, 4 years ago, an idea popped up on my head. An idea to start my own travel/lifestyle blog. An idea to share stories. An idea to start following my passion – to write & to travel.
Although, the first published blog on this site wasn’t uploaded until two months later from this date. But the seed was planted.
And 4 years later, as I sit down to reflect on the past years of my life, I can’t help but feel a whirlwind of emotions coursing through my veins.
From the initial shock of the COVID-19 pandemic to the numerous jobs I’ve undertaken to try and feel like home, like I belong. With each experience being a chapter in my quest for fulfillment and authenticity – to find Purpose.
On this blog today, we talk about my journey into self discovery, why a purpose is important and more.

Questioning Purpose: A Cinematic Perspective
If you know me, even a little bit, you’d know that cinema has a great part to play in shaping up my lifestyle – my thoughts and feelings, sometimes.
So when the B-wood movies like YJHD and Tamasha released on the theatres and I got a chance to view them – multiple times – my mind just automatically connected – to both these different characters portrayed beautifully by Ranbir Kapoor (Bunny & Ved).
Bunny (or Kabir Thapar) had a job which was a dream to me – traveling from one place to another. While, Ved (or Don) is what most people are without purpose – like robots. But he finds his purpose at the end.
They want to do things which might not feel normal – they want to have that extraordinary life – but they don’t or they can’t. Why? Maybe because its not what the society around you would agree with?
But do we have to live our entire lives just keeping at par with what society or our relatives want us to do? Isn’t it kinda weird?
And I know, most people don’t look for their purpose after they get those major ticks in life:
- ✅ A decent job
- ✅ A decent salary
- ✅ A good partner
And that’s what life is to them – wake up in the morning, have that breakfast, hop on your vehicle, reach office, do the exact same thing over and over and over again – and then get back home, eat, sleep and have dreams of what could have been.
And the cycle keeps on repeating.
The Pursuit of Passion
I myself was in that loop – multiple times – with multiple roles.
From a Security Executive in a renowned airlines to a Senior Marketing Executive in a local IT firm – I have been in that journey for a while.
But what was common in all those jobs – was this constant bugging feeling inside my mind – a suppressed scream of sorts – that I DON’T BELONG.
And maybe – that is not the best feeling to have.
To wake up everyday, go do the same thing as usual – getting back home and having this strange feeling of something off.
But the dreams you have, when you think of setting on a path to achieve those – you lose a couple of things as well: the job security, monthly income, a safe life.
‘Cause following your dreams comes with a lot of struggle, a lot of stress, a lot of uncertainty. Especially when you want to do or become or achieve something crazy.
Whether you want to become a painter, a writer, a storyteller, a comedian or whatnot – it all comes with 10x more struggle than a regular job person would feel. Right?
So do we need a purpose in life? Well, it depends on you – your aspirations and your dreams. If you have a dream you want to fulfill – you need to wake up in the morning with a purpose in mind.
Having a purpose is not just desirable – it’s essential for living a fulfilling, meaningful and satisfying life. It gives you direction, motivation and a sense of fulfillment that enriches every aspect of your existence.
Embracing Uncertainty: The Rollercoaster Ride
When the world dealt with uncertainty during the Covid outbreak and everything was locked down, I found solace in starting my own blog. A platform where I could pour my thoughts, feeling and experiences onto the digital canvas.
Little did I know, back then, that this would be the beginning of a transformative journey, one filled with twists, turns and unexpected revelations.
Despite delving into various job roles, I couldn’t shake off the lingering sense of discontent. Each job, undertaken with utmost sincerity, left me yearning for something more – something that resonated with the core of my being.
I longed to write – about my journey, about travel, about what I feel about certain things, about life. I longed to create content that resonated with others on a deeper level.
The allure of YouTube and the creative landscape beckoned to me, promising a path paved with authenticity and Purpose.
But as I navigated through these tumultuous waters of self-discovery and following my passion, doubts and fears threatened to derail my dreams. Sometimes due to societal pressures, sometimes due to the number graph making waves on the analytics tab of the online realm.
I understood that it’s not all cotton candies and sweet shenanigans when you go on to follow your dreams. It’s difficult – more than a regular lifestyle could ever be. You feel guilty of not working, not earning for the family – you feel lost at times – you doubt yourself.
But these are the times – where you must not quit.
Worth a Shot
If I happen to quit this all today, it could happen in just a second – I would then go ahead, find a job, and spend life like most people do.
But would it be worth it? Maybe it would have been if I did not have a passion – or the resources to try stuff out. I am grateful for all that I have.
So, when you have parents to support you, friends who care and a partner who partakes in your journey to reach your dreams – it’s all worth a shot!
It is uncertain – like most things are – but there’s still a glimmer of hope – a beacon of light which guides you towards the true north.
I realized that true fulfillment could only be found by embracing my authenticity, by daring to chart my own course in the vast expanse of possibility.
And so, last year – I made this courageous decision to leave the job and follow my passions – wholeheartedly.
And before you think of me like other renowned bloggers and passion followers – I did not have a great earning job that I quit once I had all the great money saved for the journey forward. No – I start with nothing. Just a burning desire, a passion and a set time to achieve something out of it.
I dedicate myself to writing, documenting my travels and my life and creating content which reflects the essence of who I am – and what my life looks like.
Gratitude for the Journey
Today, as I look back on the journey I have had so far that brings me to this point – I am filled with gratitude. Gratitude for the struggles that shaped me, for the moments of clarity that illuminated my path and for the unwavering support and understanding of those who believe in me.
I am not at all at the point of achieving a fantasy life, yet – I may not have all the answers, and the road ahead may still be fraught with uncertainties.
But one thing remains certain – Maybe I am not earning right now, Maybe I don’t yet have a huge blow-up, but I am finally living a life that feels true to myself. And one day for sure – it will all be worth it.
‘Cause in the end, isn’t that worth more than any title or paycheck?
Wrappin’ it up
My journey towards authenticity has been anything but smooth sailing. It’s been a ride filled with twists, turns and unexpected detours.
But through it all, I’ve learned that true fulfillment lies in embracing who we are and pursuing our passions with unwavering dedication.
So here’s to embracing the rollercoaster, to riding the highs and navigating the lows with grace and resilience, to not quitting.
For it is in the journey itself that we find the true meaning of life.
